Description

Since the first one did so well on auction I decided to put up another one with NO reserve. This is a Scarperia Tonerini Italian Style 9 inch OZ Custom Shell puller Fulcrum automatic knife with hand made leather sheath. This knife was inspired by switchblades made in Scarperia in the Tuscan region of Italy back in the 1940s and 50s and was made by custom knife maker Orang Zaib. The Original Scarperia knives sell for $2000-3000. This one is a little smaller and measures just over 9 inches open and about 5.25 inches closed including the lanyard ring at the back of the knife with brass liners, bolsters, fulcrum and pins. The bayonet style blade is 100% full with original finish and is marked "OZ". The handles are dark bone and in great condition with TALL button and the shell pullers are not functional, just decorative. The knife works great with blade tip centered and even with the liners closed, strong snap and very good lockup with some movement each way at the tip open. New condition. Similar knives online sell for $300-450.

This is a very informative reprint of multiple Schrade Cut Co catalogs from around 1926 through 1938 and includes many of their switchblade knives. It was reprinted by AG Russell Knife Collectors Club in 1971 and has 108 pages. It includes a section about pattern numbers and handle materials as well as a page showing the different blade shapes that they used. Very interesting book that's full of great info!
